Our Innovation Story

First Internet Provider in Hunza

KADO introduced internet access to Hunza through an IDRC-funded program, establishing internet cafes and e-resource centers. This groundbreaking initiative connected thousands to the world wide web and introduced telehealth and distance learning.

Freelancing Revolution in Gilgit-Baltistan

From 2012 to 2015, KADO’s employability enhancement program empowered over 2,700 individuals with freelancing skills and IT training. Through its various IT centers and incubation programs, KADO transformed the region’s economic landscape, fostering self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Through KADO's efforts, many went on to start their own freelancing career and companies, spearheading the rise in the regional gig economy.

From Tech Villages to Hubs

Continuing its legacy of innovation and with the support of AKF, AKRSP, and GoGB, KADO launched Digital Hub Hunza to redefine the future of work in the region.

Digital Hub Hunza has fast become a community-centric solution, fostering an ecosystem of entrepreneurs, gig workers, and professionals while combating regional brain drain.

Since its inception, Digital Hub Hunza has catered to over 5,000 individuals through coworking, co-incubation, and training programs. With plans to expand across Gilgit- Baltistan, our journey is just beginning.
